Description

Choseikyu Stick-on Moxa (Light) – a form of indirect moxa, each piece consists of a pressed and rolled cylinder of semi-pure gold moxa on a hexagonal sticky cardboard base. Simply remove each piece with its base by pushing from the reverse side of the sheet, light it, and firmly apply to either an acupuncture or painful point.  The moxa burns evenly from top to bottom thus ensuring the heat to build up gradually. The hole in the base allows the moxa heat and smoke to directly penetrate the point, creating a sensation of intense heat for a brief moment before subsiding. The ‘Lite’ type doesn’t burn as hot as the ‘Regular’ type, so use for people with sensitive skin or for sensitive areas of the body, or ‘Soft’ (lowest heat) type can also be used. The heat may be adjusted by first applying one of the white sticky pieces included with each box to the point on the skin – keeping the circle in the centre for maximum protection, or removing the circle for a slightly hotter effect.

Do not re-use pieces or apply the pieces so that they are facing downwards, as this increases the temperature and may cause burning. When the base has cooled down, it is safe to remove by twisting the base until it comes off. Place it in an ashtray or similar before disposing. Each box consists of 200 pieces. Made in Japan by Yamasho, which has been producing moxa for well over 100 years.
