- What is personal information?
(a) The Privacy Act (1988) currently defines “personal information” as information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:

- What information do we collect?
The kind of personal information we collect from you will depend on how you use the website. The personal information that we collect and hold about you may include: login credentials, name, address, phone number, and email address to enable us to send information or process your product order. We may also collect additional information at other times, including but not limited to, when you provide feedback, change your content or email preferences, respond to a survey, or communicate with House of Moxa.
Credit card information is not stored by us on our servers.
- How we collect your personal information & Cookies
(a) We may collect personal information from you whenever you input such personally identifiable information into the website, such as when you complete an order, post questions and comments about us and our products and services on the website, and subscribe to e-newsletters.
(c) If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
(d) When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
- Purpose of collection
(a) The purpose for which we collect personal information is to provide you with the best service experience possible on the website.
(c) By using our website, you consent to the receipt of direct marketing material. We will only use your personal information for this purpose if we have collected such information from you, and if it is material of a type you would reasonably expect to receive from us such as updates regarding our website, products, workshops and other information in the form of a newsletter. (a) Individual profile and company details are not used for any purpose other than stated above. Details are only supplied to a third party supplier when it is required by law, for example to comply with a law or regulation, or if it is subjected to a court order, subpoena or warrant; or in order to deliver the goods or services which have been purchased; or to protect House of Moxa’s copyright, trademarks and other legal rights.

Your personal information will not be disclosed to recipients outside of Australia unless you expressly request us to do so. If you request us to transfer your personal information to an overseas recipient, the overseas recipient will not be required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and we will not be liable for any mishandling of your information in such circumstances.
In some circumstances, the European Union General Date Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides additional protection to individuals located in Europe. The fact that you may be located in Europe, does not, however, on its own entitle you to protection under the GDPR. Our website does not specifically target customers located in the European Union and we do not monitor the behaviour of individuals in the European Union, and accordingly the GDPR does not apply.
